“Project Wrap Up” - Wine with David

A wrap up video highlighting the process, growth, and effort behind the Wine with David Tiktok Project, which gained over 200K Followers in 6 months by changing the way wine is viewed. A fully custom build, with hand built icons, textures, mattes, and of course animation rigs.

THE PROCESS

For most of 2021, I worked with David Choi on and off as a client on building his Titkok account. That involved scripting, directing, and editing each video, and while it was a fun and in my opinion a successful project (He is now sitting around 230k followers), that’s not my core skill. That would be happen to be Motion Design :)

This project is an ode to hand made assets, starting from scratch, and learning. I wanted to showcase my ability to take a blank screen and make something interesting. I started in Illustrator, concepting items like the lightbulb-thats-also-a-wine-glass, the type treatments, and graphic elements. The goal here was to make every single asset, by hand in AI, and then take that to animation. While I certainly had to google something occasionally, I wanted to prove to myself I could take something start to finish without any help on the design side, focusing on my illustrator builds and how I could take those to animation and final.
